Casey Schreiner is running for Governor

Posted

BILLINGS — Casey Schreiner, a newly minted candidate for Montana’s governorship, was in Billings on Saturday for a campaign event.

Schreiner met with the community at Thirty Street Brewing Company to talk about issues like education, health care and job growth in the Treasure State.

Having served as the Democratic minority leader in the Montana House of Representatives, Schreiner credits himself for creating bipartisanship, protecting health care and passing infrastructure packages.

“I’m here to kick off my campaign for governor, and I figure we’re doing a kickoff tour that started in eastern Montana, [so] we’re sweeping back through the Magic City on our way back home,” said Schreiner. “[I] wanted to talk to folks in Billings about why we need to take this governor’s race seriously.”

At the event, Schreiner touted his ability to connect with the everyday Montana voter.

“At the end of the day, Montana’s governor should know what it’s like to live like the rest of us, and I intend to do that,” he said. “I think we need to fight to make sure Montana families have a chance to get ahead, and I think I’m a good advocate and ally for that.”

Schreiner, a Great Falls native, announced his candidacy for the 2020 Montana governor’s race in the Electric City last week.
