RAVALLI COUNTY – Just days after Missoula health officials diagnosed several cases of whooping cough in the community, students at two more schools have now tested positive for the disease.
The Ravalli County Public Health Department says one student in the Florence School District was diagnosed with pertussis.
Staff will be at Florence Schools on Monday at 8:30 a.m. to interview students. Parents are welcome to attend the interview with their students, either in person or by phone.
Lolo School officials said they were contacted by the Missoula City-County Health Department because a Lolo student is currently being treated for whooping cough. People who may have come in contact with that student will be notified by the health department or the school.
If your child develops symptoms, notify your health provider right away and tell them they may have been exposed to pertussis.
