15-year-old-girl killed when a car crashed into her home

KALISPELL – A Kalispell man is facing Vehicular Negligent Homicide charges after driving into an Evergreen home and killing a teen as she slept.

Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino said that at around 2 a.m. on Friday a vehicle traveling on Spring Creek Drive in Evergreen struck a home.

Jared Parsons, 31, of Kalispell, the driver, is currently being held without bond in the Flathead County jail on pending Vehicular Negligent Homicide, Failure to remain at the Scene of an Accident and Driving while Suspended charges.

The victim has been identified as Erin Howk, 15, of Kalispell whose body has been taken to the State Crime Lab in Missoula for autopsy.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports they are investigating alcohol and speed as factors in this crash.

The case is currently under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.
