BUTTE – A 27-year-old Butte woman, who was reported missing over the weekend, was found dead in a rollover crash early Monday.

Butte police discovered the driver deceased about 2:30 a.m. in a 2010 Nissan that was overturned in Blacktail Creek.

Police suspect the woman lost control of the vehicle while driving west on Interstate 15/90 and drove off the right side of the highway where the vehicle came to rest upside down in the creek.

The woman’s family reported her missing Sunday after she was last seen about 11 p.m. Friday driving away from a relative’s home in Pipestone.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and suspects drugs and speed were factors in the crash. The woman was not wearing a seat belt.

The Butte coroner’s office has not yet released the woman’s name.
