GREAT FALLS – Bobby the cat arrived back home in Great Falls on Friday afternoon after a cross-country adventure and winding up in Nevada.
His family was there at Great Falls International Airport to welcome home, and his “dad” Kyle was so overcome with emotion that he could barely speak.
Bobby’s trek started in June 2017; the original post on the Great Falls Lost & Found Pets Facebook page on June 22, 2017, said:
Bobby boy has done it again. My parents cat has gone missing around 6th and 8th Ave North. No collar but he does have a microchip. If anyone has seen him please call Kyle Preston. He’s well loved and dearly missed. Please keep an eye out for my dad’s beloved boy. Forgot to mention he only has a half tail and he’s on a special diet.
The SPCA of Northern Nevada posted this video on Thursday, October 5th, and wrote:
Luckily Bobby is microchipped so when Fallon Animal Control scanned him, they found his proper owner- a 73-year-old man named Kyle, who has been searching for Bobby since he went missing. Kyle never gave up hope, he even put out special food for Bobby every night, hoping to coax him home. Bobby couldn’t smell the food but he’s headed home TOMORROW!!
Late Friday morning, the SPCA said that Bobby is in transit back home to Great Falls. They thanked Barbara, who they said is “the incredible, pet-loving individual who is taking Bobby with her on her flight back to Montana!”
