HELENA – Three grizzly bear cubs housed at Montana WILD in Helena will soon have a new home.

The three grizzly cubs have lived at the Helena Wildlife Rehabilitation Center since June. They were rescued after their mother was hit on Highway 200 outside Lincoln.

On Friday, the three cubs will be sent to a zoo in Quebec, Canada.

Wildlife officials said grizzlies are different from black bears and cannot be sent back into the wild after rehabilitation because they quickly associate humans with food.

The three grizzly bears have been named Larry, Curly, and Moe after the Three Stooges.

The Helena Wildlife Rehabilitation Center generally cares for black bears that can be sent back into the wild.
