LOLO NATIONAL FOREST — Fire managers report they are making progress fighting a pair of wildfires near Lolo Hot Springs.
Containment on 17-acre Wagon Mountain Fire located approximately two miles northeast of Lolo Pass Visitor Center -- and east of Highway 12 -- has grown to 70 percent. There are 65 people assigned to the fire.
All of the control line was finished, and hose lay was placed around the fire’s perimeter, according to fire managers.
The Lee Creek Campground remains closed for staging of firefighting equipment and firefighters. Several trails are also closed in the area as well.
No structures or property are threatened at this time.
The four-acre West Fork Lolo 2 Fire has now been fully contained.
The lightning-sparked blaze is burning a mile southwest of Lolo Hot Springs and five miles west of Lee Creek Campground across Highway 12.

Fire managers say a weather shift with predicted thunderstorms will be a focus of firefighting operations today.
