St. Vincent Healthcare is now allowing members of the community to sign up online to make an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Michael Skehan, chief operating officer for St. V's, said Friday afternoon that the sign-up form was created to make it easier for people who want to receive the vaccine.
"This was a response to the community who were sort of calling and calling again and have some frustration," said Skehan.
Skehan said that the clinic has received numerous calls from people wanting the vaccine.
"It eliminates the need for people to call and then keep calling, looking for that appointment. It's really just one time you fill out the form and then we've got that information and we'll be in touch as soon as we possibly can," said Skehan.
Skehan said that anyone in the community can sign up to receive the vaccine but there will be priority for those who meet the established criteria.
Skehan said that one additional element of the forms is that people can choose to be put on the rapid call list.
"For individuals that could potentially break away with very little notice because we had a no show or for whatever reason, we had an additional appointment on that given day. Our commitment is to vaccinate as many people as quickly as we can and to not waste a single dose of the vaccine," said Skehan.
Skehan said people without internet can call (406) 237-7050.
