The Billings Police Department has enacted a citywide slick streets policy Monday afternoon.
This means that certain vehicle accidents, such as slideoffs, may not get an immediate response from law enforcement because of the volume of service calls.
Police are also warning drivers to avoid city hills because many are impassable.
In addition, the Montana Department of Transportation has issue a severe driving warning for several areas in south-central Montana, including nearly all of Highway 212 to Red Lodge, Highway 308 from Red Lodge to Belfry and Interstate 90 from Reed Point to Park City.
Check out the transportation department's road report here.
The BPD slick streets policy is in effect. Avoid city hills when possible as they are impassable for some vehicles.
