A few Christmas tree lots in Billings have remained open during a reported nationwide Christmas tree shortage.

About 50 trees out of 300 are left for the first year lot at 24th Street West and Lewis Avenue.

The Adult & Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest works out of a home in Billings Heights.

The group started a faith-based, long-term residential treatment program in October.

The men in the program are helping to sell the Christmas trees.

"It's been a real opportunity for us to just spread a little hope to people that need it to minister to people when the opportunity arises," said Ryan Clubb, adult and teen challenge program coordinator for the Billings campus. "Every dime that is raised here at this Christmas tree lot goes directly back into our program to help men get their life back together. We see a need here in Billings for what we have to offer. And we've met a lot of great people and we're hoping to be, you know, a light in this community."

The tree lot at 24th and Lewis will be open Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
