BILLINGS- Two people were arrested after they led Yellowstone County sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase from Billings to Pryor Thursday morning.

A deputy tried to make a traffic stop about 8:15 a.m. near the Reno Club at 150 Calhoun Lane, and the vehicle took off, according to the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

The pursuit went south on Blue Creek Road and ended in a field near Pryor. A female was detained immediately.

After three hours of searching miles of backcountry, sheriff’s deputies and the highway patrol found a male and arrested him, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Calvin Jimmerson.

No other information was immediately available about potential charges or IDs.

Early reports to the sheriff’s office indicated the Blue Creek School was placed on lockdown, but they were false, according to the sheriff’s office. Staff and students were secure inside the school when the vehicle passed by.
