BILLINGS- The Shrine Auditorium in Billings was full Friday night with ski equipment ready to be swapped.
The Silver Run Ski Swap attracted ski enthusiasts from around the area who were interested in new gear.
The Silver Run Ski team, a nonprofit group that teaches competitive skiing, will receive 25 percent of proceeds to pay for gas and ski gear to get up Red Lodge Mountain.
With this Ski Swap, Silver Run hopes to make the sport of skiing more affordable for everyone.
“I think the fact that this is a youth focused organization. So many people have this misconception that skiing is a rich kid sport. Nothing could be further from the truth. We work really hard at Silver Run and Red Lodge Mountain to make skiing affordable and skiing accessible for everybody. If you haven’t tried skiing, you are never too old to come and check it out,” said Curtis Shuck, head alpine coach of the Silver Run Ski Team
The sale continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
