BILLINGS- The Billings Fire Department quickly doused an apartment fire on the 2500 block of Eighth Ave. N. in Billings Wednesday evening.
According to a battalion chief on the scene, an apartment resident called 911 when a smoke alarm sounded after 5:30 p.m.
Firefighters busted into another apartment, where they found a small fire and put it out, the battalion chief said.
No one was injured.
Investigators said the fire caused $2,000 in damage to the apartment, which was insured. The cause remains under investigation.
