Two fires ignite at different homes on Billings South Side

BILLINGS- Firefighters extinguished two separate fires at different residences blocks away on Billings South Side Friday morning.

At 6:32 a.m., firefighters responded to a call at 117 Jackson St. A vehicle, camper and car port sustained $30,000 in damage, according to Deputy Fire Marshal Jeff McCullough. All was insured, and the cause remains under investigation.

Later at 9:55 a.m., a report of a house fire came in at 709 1/2 S. 32nd. St. This fire caused $50,000 in property and content loss, which was insured.

The fire was accidental, caused by a failure in the floor furnace.
