BILLINGS – At 2:52 a.m. Sunday morning, Billings police officers were dispatched to the report of a shooting near 8th st. west and Terry avenue. According to a press release, a 55-year-old from Roundup called 911 and said that he had been shot.
When officers arrived, they located the victim with a single gunshot wound in the hip/pelvic area of his body.
The victim pointed out a nearby house where the shooting had occurred.
According to police, when they removed the occupants of the house, they found a shattered storm door, several bullet holes, blood and shell casings.
Police interviewed the victims and determined a suspect fired several shots at the victim, from apparently inside of a vehicle parked nearby.
Officers say the suspect was described as a teenage Hispanic male who fled the scene on foot, before police arrived.
This is an ongoing investigation and Police are following up on several leads on this individual. No arrests have been made.
The male victim is at a local hospital and is in stable condition.
Drugs are believed to be involved.
