WOLF POINT - The Roosevelt County Health Department has closed after an employee contracted COVID-19.

The department made the announcement Thursday in a Facebook post.

The department said they do not have anyone in the office to answer phones so messages will take time to get answered. They also notified residents that if they have concerns about their health or possible exposure to the virus they should contact their personal health care provider.

"We appreciate this is a sudden and odd situation and wish to assure you that arrangements are being made by Health Department staff working remotely to return to normal operations as soon as possible," the post states.

According to state health officials, Roosevelt County currently has a total of nine coronavirus cases with one active case.
