BILLINGS – Jason Christoferson was named the winner of the 2019 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, and $650,000 dollars was donated to the St. Jude Childrens Research hospital, Sunday.

Christoferson’s name was drawn out of a hopper containing 6500 entry’s.

Lots of work from many people went into making this giveaway a reality.

People across the Billings area bought raffle tickets for gift cards, kitchen fixtures, and a new cell phone.

But the big prize Sunday was a dream home worth half a million dollars.

Christoferson couldn’t believe it.

“It couldn’t be me,” Christoferson said. “I mean it’s just a great cause. I was in shock. It’s an awesome event and house. And I’m just happy I bought a ticket. It changes a lot. It’s a huge, huge deal.

The Christoferson’s are made up of wife Melissa, 15 year-old Kira, and 12 year-old Brooke. They were at Metrapark for a volleyball tournament when they got the news.

“I’m still in shock,” said Melissa Christoferson “Tingles went through my whole body. I said, I’m not going to believe it. I’m not going to believe it. All of a sudden our daughter was texting us, because we were still at the Metra saying that we did win. And then I was like, um let me just finish what I’m doing. Put my stuff away and get moving so we can actually think about this.

Even after the big win, the Christoferson’s are still looking for ways to give back.

Melissa Christoferson: I have felt very blessed to have healthy and happy children. Hopefully we will find a way to pay it forward even more. Because it’s such a great thing. We have friends and family that have gone through it. To be able to help them in any way possible will continue to contribute, continue to buy tickets. We need to keep going with that.
