The Institute for Peace Studies held its 17th annual women’s conference focused on women in the work force.
Nearly 80 women participated in the “We are Women, Watch us Soar” conference at the Billings Public Library’s Royal C. Johnson Community Room on Saturday.
Speakers told stories that inspired women in their business ventures.
“Women have a different perspective on what may be needed in the community,” said Quincy Walter, director of the institute. “And a lot of these women, they have an idea and they have the passion and the drive to start it. But it’s also sometimes finding the people to help build you up along the way. I hope they connect with each other and I hope they find similar stories with each other but also find people to either help them in their own personal lives or with their businesses as well.”
This is the first year the Women’s Conference has been held at the library.
Rocky Mountain College hosted the event for the first 16 years.
