The Billings Symphony hosted Adventures in Music Day to inspire children at the Billings Public Library on Saturday.
The Symphony performed “Symphony in the Wild” at its family concert at the Alberta Bair Theater
Jeff Ewelt and ZooMontana brought animals to the theater and the library..
Before the concert, the Symphony invited families to the library.
Kids had a chance to see and try out orchestra instruments.
The day is about encouraging children to learn music.
“Studies just show that you learn to incorporate music into your homework so they just become better students,” said Candy Holzer, education director for the Billings Symphony. “We do these instrument petting zoos all over the place. Everywhere you go we see excitement from all ages of kids. Hopefully they all pick up an instrument at some point and play in the band or orchestra or sing in the choir. As long as they do music, we’re happy.”
