U.S. Senator Mike Mansfield and Ambassador George McGovern are among the past honorees of the Jeannette Rankin Peace Award.

Lynda Moss of Billings joins the group on Saturday.

Rocky Mountain College’s Institute for Peace gives the award annually.

The award goes to people from Montana or who have strong Montana ties AND who exemplify values promoted by Rankin.

Moss is being honored for her 35 years in public service…including as a state senator from 2005 to 2011.

She will talk at the ceremony and shared some of her message.

“It’s a message of hope in a time that is troubling and somewhat frightening.  but like Jeannette Rankin, collectively we have the ability to work toward good things. i am so honored to be the 2018 recipient of the Jeannette Rankin Peace Award from the Institute of Peace Studies at Rocky Mountain College.”

Moss will receive the award at the “In Praise of Peace” concert and award ceremony, at Rocky Mountain College’s Losekamp Hall starting at 7:30 Saturday night.
