BOZEMAN – A 21-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Gallatin Gateway just before midnight Tuesday.
The crash happened on U.S. Highway 191 near Cottonwood Road. The woman crossed the center line and hit a truck heading southbound, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.
First responders had to pry the truck door open to help the two passengers inside. The driver had to be transported by LifeFlight to the hospital, while the passenger took an ambulance. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
The woman died at the scene, according to the patrol. She was improperly wearing a seatbelt, with only the lap belt secured and the shoulder strap behind her body.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The names of the people involved in the crash have not been released.
