Annual War of the Walls pits Billings and Laurel schools against each other in mural contest

Posted

BILLINGS — Voting is now open for the annual mural competition between the Billings and Laurel high schools, which coincides with the annual Grad Day fundraising event.

Billings Senior High, Skyview, West High, Billings Central Catholic and Laurel High School are all contending.

Each high school creates a mural that’s painted on the sides of different MasterLube locations.

The winner, which is selected May 18, is awarded a traveling trophy and bragging rights for the year.

Billings West won the competition in 2017.

The competition coincides with the annual Grad Day fundraiser, the high schools’ all-night drug and alcohol free-graduation celebration.

The fundraiser takes place May 19.

Each school adopts a MasterLube site for the day to conduct their fundraising and every dime a customer spends at the designated location benefits the specific school’s graduation celebration.

Voting for the murals ends May 16 at noon.

Locations:

Billings West will be at the MasterLube at 2424 King Ave. W

Billings Senior at 1628 Grand Ave.

Skyview at 1331 Main St.

Billings Central Catholic High downtown at 2650 Fourth Ave. N.

Laurel High School at 203 SE Fourth St. in Laurel.
