We can look forward to another nice day to start off the week tomorrow. Temperatures will be slightly cooler than they were today in the wake of a frontal system, but still above average and pleasant.
The main weather story for the week will come on Monday in the form of a cold rain event. Daily high temperatures on Monday will likely occur very early in the morning and then cool down as the day progresses and the system passes over the area. There is the potential for quite a bit of rainfall to come down out of this system. Model runs right now have Billings receiving around half an inch. Given the temperatures associated with this event it is very possible that there is some mixed precipitation involved. At the higher elevations there will definitely be snowfall. However at lower elevations I think any accumulation looks unlikely at this point. But that is not to say that there is no chance you see a big wet flake or two come Monday.
That rainfall event clears out of our area by the afternoon and allows sunshine to creep back in to the picture and warm things up for a much more comfortable Tuesday. Tuesday will kick off a great looking stretch of days that lead into more 70’s being forecasted for next weekend.
So enjoy Sunday, get through Monday, and then look forward to more sunny skies for the rest of the week.
