Seth Meyers day drinking with Rihanna was so last week. For this week’s installment of late-night hosts hanging out with musicians who are way cooler than them, Jimmy Fallon took Nicki Minaj on a date night to Red Lobster.
Or, one could argue, she took him.
It was made clear right away that the host of “The Tonight Show” was expected to pay. But she picked him up in a hot pink SUV limo and, because she comes with the experience of having been fired from several Red Lobsters, was able to walk him through the menu with ease (and may have also saved him from choking).
There was talk of their early years, which Fallon helped Minaj recreate as they waited on other Red Lobster diners.
It’s unlikely this night would have ended in a love connection. This is mostly because, well, they are both happily with other people — him with wife, film producer Nancy Juvonen, and her with boyfriend Kenneth Petty, who appeared in her music video “MEGATRON.”
But they’ll always have Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
