BILLINGS — Forecast

Right now:

Beartooth Pass at Vista Point is closed due to snow on the WY side. Roads are becoming impassible at higher elevations. Pass will close for the season the weekend of Oct. 12th.

Red Flag Fire Warnings for much of South Central and Eastern, MT, as well as for parts of North Eastern WY, Western SD and Western ND till 9pm. Low humidity and strong gusting winds. Wind for most of the day has been between 25 and 35 mph, but gusts could top off at 50 mph.

Winds are blowing strong but will start to subside this evening. In Glasgow, MT at Fort Peck Lake, there is a wind advisory. Winds between 20 to 30mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. This will cause rough waves and hazardous conditions for small craft.

Temps in the 60’s today with cloudy sky’s.

Tonight:

Starting to get that fall weather, with the cooler night. Temps into the 40’s and even high 30’s in some spots. Winds will die down a bit, but they will not leave all together. Expect a cool breeze if you are sleeping with the window cracked.

Tomorrow:

Breezy with a chance of a stray shower in and round Billings, but higher elevations may see snow. Temps for most of the region will be in the upper 50’s to lower 60’s

Monday – Friday:

Warmer and dryer for the week. Mainly sunny and clear. Temps in the 60’s and 70’s.

Tuesday could be a day with fire weather concerns if the winds pick up with a slight cold front expected to move through and temps reaching the upper 70’s.

But for the most part, though we are sliding into fall, next week looks like it will be pretty comfortable.
