BILLINGS – Clearing skies and warmer daytime temperatures ahead
A band of snow showers across the region Friday night brought almost 8 inches of snow north of Broadus and in portions of Carter County. The Billings area saw anywhere from 1.5 to around 3 inches total snowfall.
As of early Saturday afternoon, skies are clearing and afternoon temps are nearing the freezing mark at many locations.
Even with the bright sunshine, the expansive snow cover will keep temps on the cool side until some of the snow melts off over the next couple of days.
We’ll see those sunny skies and warmer temperatures begin to eat up some of that snow cover Sunday through early next week. At the same time, we’ll likely see some lowland ponding and some potential ice jamming along area waterways as well.
Our next chance for snowfall comes our way on Wednesday.
