BILLINGS – Bottom line: Windy.
Temperatures will remain mild through the weekend, but periods of wind will highlight the weather Friday and Saturday.
Friday, highs will continue to run in the 60s despite increased cloud cover. Part of this will be due to increased winds down the east mountain slopes, with areas Livingston, Harlowton and Nye reaching 40 to 55 mph wind gusts especially during the afternoon.
Saturday will start with a few showers across eastern Montana. By midday, winds will increase across Montana’s eastern plains with widespread 15 to 25 mph sustained winds and gusts of 50 mph possible.
Winds will gradually subside later Saturday.
Sunday will be cooler in the morning, but still be mild in the afternoon with less wind. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid-60s but drop about 10 degrees for Monday.
