Flash Flood Watch issued July 8 at 3:21AM MDT until July 9 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Billings MT

The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of south central Montana and
southeast Montana, including the following counties, in south
central Montana, Big Horn. In southeast Montana, Carter, Custer,
Fallon, Powder River, Rosebud, and Treasure.

* From noon MDT today through tonight.

* Showers and thunderstorms will produce areas of very heavy rain
this afternoon and evening. Rain rates could be as high as 3-4
inches an hour in stronger storms. Some locations will likely see
between one and two inches of rain, with localized higher amounts
possible. This heavy rain will fall on already saturated ground
and could lead to flash flooding of streams and low lying areas.
Some rural roads could become impassable.

* Please do not attempt to drive on a flooded roadway.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
