GREAT FALLS – Special Olympics Montana hosted its final events for the 2019 Summer Games throughout the day Friday despite the rainy weather.

But before the athletes hit the field, they celebrated their hard work with the Closing Ceremonies at Great Falls High School’s Fieldhouse.

During the ceremony, athletes who sold the most MTN/Chevy Truck raffle tickets were recognized. As a reward, they pelted President and CEO of SOMT, Bob Norbie, with dodgeballs.

Both C.M. Russell High School and Great Falls High School cheerleaders and band members entertained the crowd.

Law enforcement officers, along with 2018 SOMT athlete-of-the-year Jamie Darko, extinguished the Flame of Home to signify the official end of the 2019 Summer Games.

The winner of the MTN/Chevy truck raffle will be announced Sunday morning.
