BILLINGS - A Billings nonprofit awarded the Friendship House $9,500 Tuesday night to help pay to pave its parking lot.

Members of 100 Strong Billings pledged $100 each individually for the winning project, and the group made a matching offer.

The award was decided during the group's quarterly meeting at Moav Coffee.

The Friendship House is a Christian-based group that helps young families on Billings South Side.

Others groups vying for a donation were representatives of Rose Park, who want to build a handicap-accessible playground, and Wise Wonder, which is seeking to develop an outreach program.
