Q2 Weather: One more day of pretty weather in Billings then it clouds up again

Posted: Updated:

BILLINGS - It is another beautiful day here in the Magic City - in fact, you can see from Billings all the way to the Beartooth Mountains.

And here’s some more good news: the early afternoon temperatures are in the mid-to upper 30s already across the region.

That means some snow is melting, but we are not accelerating the flooding issues along the area's creeks, streams and rivers.

Outside of Billings, it’s a beautiful day all over the state. Even over in Glacier National Park, they are reporting sunny skies and mild temperatures too.

The Doppler radar and satellite imagery shows just a few wispy high clouds between Havre and Glasgow this Wednesday afternoon.

Everywhere else in the state, we are seeing mostly sunny skies.

Our next storm is this one out in the Pacific Ocean that is currently sending a little moisture onshore in northern California and southern Oregon.

That will follow the jet stream up into the Pacific Northwest, eventually sending some of that moisture into Montana, in the form of clouds on Thursday and rain by Friday evening.

The computer models show mostly sunny skies for the rest of Wednesday but then turning cloudy on Thursday morning and staying cloudy in Billings all day.

Then the center of the next storm will start moving rain and snow in the Montana by Friday night and Saturday morning.

Tonight: Turning cloudy and getting cool. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Low 20 degrees.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy and still dry, but getting warmer. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. High 42 degrees.

Friday: Partly sunny, windy and warmer still. West winds 15 to 25 mph. High 44 degrees.
