Man stabs roommate in chest on Billings West End

BILLINGS - A drunk man stabbed his roommate in the chest Friday night, according to the Billings Police Department.

A short scuffle over the blade ensued with both men receiving minor cuts until the knife was finally dropped. Then the victim called 911 for assistance. He was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The suspect was later located by officers and placed under arrest after receiving medical attention himself. He was charged with assault with a weapon.

Police said the victim's injuries were not life threatening.

The investigation is ongoing.
