BILLINGS - It was a busy for first night for the new Billings City Council who has four new faces to start 2018.

Bill Cole was sworn in as mayor of the Magic City.

New councilmembers Frank Ewalt in Ward 2, Denise Joy in Ward 3 and Penny Ronning in Ward 4 were also sworn in.

Incumbents Mike Yakawich and Shaun Brown will begin their second four-year term on the council.

After the three hour meeting, Ward 4 councilmember Ryan Sullivan announced he will step down January 16.

He will relocate to Texas for a job opportunity.

The new-look City Council has no shortage of tough decisions ahead of it such as hiring a new city administrator, deciding the fate of the One Big Sky project downtown, as well as what was discussed at Monday's first work session of the new year -- investing in the city's water system.

Council will take up decisions in its first business meeting Monday, January 8.
