The Montana Highway Patrol has reported more than 300 incidents on roadways statewide since snow began falling late Thursday night, including slideoffs, wrecks and other calls.

On Interstate 90 in Billings, conditions are poor Friday night, with snow and ice covering the roadways. Visibility is low because of still falling snow.

West of Billings, conditions on both I-90 and U.S. Highway 191 near Big Timber are considered to be severe, according to the Montana Department of Transportation.

State officials say drivers should avoid the Big Timber area if at all possible because it's among the most dangerous in the state..

With a storm warning in effect through Saturday night, it is best to avoid driving as much as possible and keep an eye out on changing conditions.
