Woman, two dogs escape injury in Billings South Side fire

BILLINGS -  A structure fire caused $150,000 in damage to a Billings South Side home Monday afternoon, according to Billings firefighters.

A female occupant and two dogs escaped without injury from the blaze, which ignited in a basement bedroom and caused significant smoke damage in the home at 208 S. 34th St., according to Assistant Fire Marshal Bill Tatum. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Firefighters responded to the call about 3:30 p.m. The cause remains under investigation. The property is insured but the contents inside are not, according to firefighters.
