TERRY - The name of the man killed in a crash north of Terry on Nov. 7 was released by authorities Monday afternoon.

John Metcalfe with the Montana Highway Patrol identified the man as 41-year-old Daniel K. Weilacher.

Metcalfe said Weilacher had an address out of Williston, N.D., but also lived in Saratoga Springs, Utah.

Highway patrol is currently waiting on the results from a toxicology report to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

Troopers discovered narcotics and alcohol inside of the vehicle Weilacher was driving the morning of Nov. 7.

The Dodge pickup truck was traveling on Highway 253 when it struck a guardrail after passing over a bridge.

The truck, which was also hauling another vehicle on a trailer, separated from the trailer, then rolled and landed on its top.

Weilacher, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash was first reported at 4:30 a.m. but Metcalfe believes it occurred hours earlier.
