Billings Mayor Tom Hanel said the U.S. Code has a long description of the word "veteran", but he said it should include just one word: hero.
The Mayor was among those who spoke at a Veterans Day Celebration in the Magic City Saturday morning. The event was held at First Presbyterian Church.
Elizabeth Fullon, a U.S. Air Force Reserve vet was the keynote speaker. World War II vet and radio Hall of Famer Lonnie Bell also spoke.
Several groups participated both outside and inside the church.
The Friends of the Yellowstone National Cemetery hosted the celebration.
VFW Post 6774 hosted a post-celebration lunch in the heights.
