Incumbents Yakawich, Brown retain seats on Billings City Council

BILLINGS - Incumbent Mike Yakawich will keep his Ward 1 seat on the Billings City Council, and he'll serve another four years with Shaun Brown in Ward 5.

Yakawich defeated challenged Charlie Smillie Tuesday, taking about 63 percent of the vote in early returns. He was leading 2,073-1,203 in early returns.

Brown led 2,438-1,978 over challenger Dennis Ulvestad in early returns, taking about 55 percent of the vote. 

In other races, Frank Ewalt was leading Roger Gravgaard in Ward 2, 54 percent to 45 percent. Denise Joy was up on Nadja Brown 57 percent to 42 percent in Ward 3. Penny Ronning was ahead of George Blackard 53 percent to 47 percent.
