About 220 Northwestern Energy customers on the Hi-Line remain without power Tuesday, a week after a major snowstorm dumped more than a foot of snow in some areas, utility officials said.

Butch Larcombe, a Northwestern Energy spokesman, said those without power include some homes but are mostly low-priority customers, including irrigation pumps, out buildings, barns, corrals and others.

In an email, Larcombe called it "the biggest outage... in more than a decade" in terms of damage to the system and how long people are without power.

Crews are focused today in the area of Lohman, Chinook, Zurich, Harlem, Savoy, Larcombe said. Northwestern Energy still needs to replace 110 power poles to serve the highest priority customers, he said.

The replacement of poles is time-consuming and involves intensive work, he said.

"We appreciate the understanding of our customers in the outage area," Larcombe wrote.
