Montana man killed in Wyoming crash

A Montana man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover crash in western Wyoming.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, James Watters, 45 of Dillon, died Tuesday when a 1997 Subaru Outback he was driving on US 89 near Alpine, Wyo. drifted off the north shoulder of the roadway and struck a rock embankment. The patrol was dispatched to the crash at about 5:30 a.m.

After hitting the embankment, the Subaru vaulted and rolled once before coming to a rest on its wheels. 

During the rollover, both occupants, who were unrestrained by seatbelts, were ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The passenger, whose name was not released, was transported by ambulance to the Star Valley Medical Center.
