Butte man faces 2 DUI charges after back-to-back arrests

Posted: Updated:

BUTTE - A Butte man faces back-to-back drunken driving charges after police arrested him twice in the span of a few hours.

Butte police first arrested 36-year-old Tony Sullivan on suspicion of driving drunk just after 10 p.m. Tuesday evening in the area of Idaho and Silver streets.

Sullivan bonded out of jail just before midnight and was arrested again about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday for allegedly driving drunk in the 2000 block of Grand Avenue.

“He chose to bond out of jail using the bail bondsman and then he decided, I'm assuming, walk over to his car where it was stopped, where we picked him up the first time, and get into it and drive again,” said Butte Undersheriff George Skuletich.

Sullivan remained in jail Wednesday on two aggravated DUI charges for allegedly having a blood-alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit in both arrests.
