HELENA -

A Helena man has been charged with his his 6th DUI.

The Montana Highway Patrol said Kenneth Steven Berger was seen waving down traffic on Interstate 15 on Sunday north of Helena.

He told one witness he’d run out of gas.

When troopers ran his identification through their dispatch they found Berger had a revoked driver’s license and five DUI convictions dating back to 1991.

He gave a breath test which showed his blood-alcohol level was two times over the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Bond in the case is set at $25,000.00.

Judge Michael Swingley also ordered Berger, if released, to enter the 24/7 program.
