Three weeks after he was reported missing, the body of a Billings man has yet to be found.
Capt. Jeremy House, a Billings police detective, said law enforcement is still searching for the remains of Rory Wanner, 33, who was declared the victim of a murder at the start of July.
Wanner was reported missing June 28 after he didn’t arrive at a friend’s house in the Heights as planned.
The victim’s friend notified police and officers later found Wanner’s Jeep abandoned in a Heights neighborhood.
House said persons of interest have been identified but murder charges likely won’t be filed for another couple of weeks.
Two Billings men, ages 37 and 35, have been charged for removing blood evidence of an assault that occurred on the same date Wanner went missing and from a home in the same area of Wanner’s disappearance.
House wouldn’t comment about whether those two men are persons of interest in Wanner’s death. The detective also declined to comment on the cause of Wanner's death.
