Rescue Mission in Billings reopens bargain centers

Posted: Updated:

The Montana Rescue Mission recently reopened its Bargain Center Second Chance Store.

The store provides a second chance for customers and workers.

The Montana Rescue Mission has two bargain centers, one in the Heights and one at the West End.

The second chance store re-opened last month and held its grand opening celebration on Saturday.

The store is also a training center for those at the shelter to learn about the retail industry.

The store's manager, James O’Rourke, is ready to graduate from the mission's New Life Program.

"They allow me to do this," O'Rourke said. "They have trust in me and that means a lot to a person."

He appreciates the chance to help others.

"I've seen quite a few of them lately and they're doing good,” O’Rourke said. “It's just that second chance. Just a second chance in life. It does my heart good and they're joyous."

The Second Chance store is at 21 South 29th Street behind rescue mission.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 1 pm to 4pm and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.
