Drugs suspected factor in crash that killed motorcyclist in eastern Montana

Drugs are a suspected factor in a fatal crash involving a van and a motorcycle in Culbertson, according to Montana Highway Patrol on Thursday.

The crash happened Wednesday around 2 p.m. on Highway 2 in Roosevelt County.

A Ford van was eastbound on Highway 2 when the vehicle veered into the lane of oncoming traffic.

The van collided with an oncoming motorcycle before going off the road.

The single rider on the motorcycle, who was wearing a helmet, was killed by the impact.

The driver of the van was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to MHP.

There were no other people or vehicle involved.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

Drugs are a suspected factor in the crash, according to MHP.

The crash is under investigation.
