BILLINGS -

Authorities are searching for a suspect who fled from officers in the Duck Creek area on the Billings West End Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect was identified as Tyson Heisler, 32, who is wanted on probation violation.

Chief Deputy Rod Ostermiller of the U.S. Marshals Service said his department is assisting in the search.

Yellowstone County deputies are heading the investigation, according to Ostermiller.

Ostermiller said Heisler should be considered armed and dangerous.

Heisler fled as officers approached and took off in an unknown direction.

“We’re looking for him but we have no idea where he’s at,” said Ostermiller.

Heisler has four felony convictions from Yellowstone County including two convictions for burglary, one for robbery and one conviction of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

Ostermiller advised residents near the Yellowstone River to beware of suspicious activity.
