Parents and teachers are always looking for ways to get kids interested in reading.  One restaurant in the Magic City thinks they may have the recipe.

The Pizza Hut on Belknap Ave. is betting that cheesy goodness will bring kids to the brand new Little Free Library right outside their doors.

The concept is one being implemented around the country in front of different stores, parks and even homes.  The little library, which looks like a large mailbox, gets filled with books that anyone is free to take.  The program asks that people also donate books, or just simply exchange one you have already read for one in the library.

The organizations is in all 50 states, with over 50,000 of their small libraries in communities around the world.

"We think that sharing books with your neighbors and having a place to gather and have community is really important,” said Branden Pedersen, operations manager for the Little Free Library organization. “People seem to be longing for that and Little Free Libraries have addressed that need."

The group from Pizza Hut and Little Free Library also visited Newman Elementary to hand out a book to every student.
