Rocky accepting Hall of Fame nominations

Posted: Updated:

Rocky Mountain College is accepting nominations for the 2016 RMC Clara Klindt Athletic Hall of Fame. The deadline is April 13. The Hall of Fame committee will begin reviews soon after the deadline.

Categories for consideration include RMC student athletes, teams, coaches and athletic directors as well as alumnus who have made major contributions in the field of athletics at the high school, college or professional levels.

Former student athletes and Battlin’ Bears teams must wait 10 years after their final season to be eligible, while coaches and athletic directors have a five year waiting period. There is no time requirement for individuals who have made major contributions elsewhere.

Nominations for the “Bill Woolston Distinguished Service Award” are also being requested. This award is given to a person who has significantly contributed to RMC through service to the College’s athletics program.

The 2016 inductees will be honored during the annual “Hall of Fame Weekend,” which is planned for Sept. 9 and 10. The formal Hall of Fame induction banquet and ceremony is scheduled for the evening of Friday, Sept. 9. The inductees, along with current members of the Hall of Fame, will also be recognized at halftime of the Rocky – Carroll football game on Saturday.
