Rocky men strike gold in Lake Placid, win national title

The Rocky Mountain College men’s alpine ski racing team won its first overall USCSA national title since 2011 on Friday in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The Battlin’ Bears captured the championship by winning both the Giant Slalom Wednesday and the slalom on Friday.

Freshman Andraz Reich-Pogladic earned the individual overall national championship to lead Rocky. Erik Hogbom and Sean McCormick, who finished third and ninth, respectively, followed Reich-Poladic in the standings.

The Battlin’ Bears are coached by Jerry Wolf.
