Rocky men win giant slalom national title

Rocky Mountain College ski teams have won two national championships in two days after the men captured the giant slalom title Wednesday in Lake Placid, NY.

Rocky (5:56.18) earned it by placing three skiers in the top five. Freshman Andraz Reich-Pogladic was second place, Erik Hogbom placed third and Nils Hogbom finished fifth place.

The Battlin’ Bears edged out Sierra Nevada College (5:56.98), while the College of Idaho finished third.

Rocky can sweep both titles Friday when they compete in the slalom beginning at 7:45 a.m. Mountain Time.

Rocky's women will compete in the same discipline Thursday at 7:45 a.m. Mountain, after also winning the giant slalom national title on Tuesday. Frida Svedberg won the individual title Tuesday, her 4th national championship while at Rocky.
